Baking Class, 2nd Day

Second day, working on chocolate chip cookies. Jordi chose not to join us; he got outvoted, had wanted to make chocolate crinkles. :-)

So everyone took turns, first the girls then the boys. Preparing the dry ingredients. Notice the aprons but the fresh-from-the-shower-after-the-swimming-class hair.

Measuring the sugar and making sure everybody's in the shot. Kate's reading from the downloaded recipe.

Oooo...so cute. Measuring the "3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar times two" took them about ten minutes...So sorry, I hadn't realized the camera was on macro, hence the blur.

And look at this! We might yet make chefs out of these two. "Cream butter and sugars til light and fluffy."

Spooning out the cookie dough! Not shown, a couple of handfuls of chocolate chips ending up in their mouths instead of in the dough.

They're equipped with measuring cups, spoons, oven mitts, pot holders, hand towels, and the desire to bake. Just add the oven, mixing bowls, baking sheets, pans and electric mixer, and voila! you should have desserts galore!

Those are really hot but they couldn't wait another second. Even Patrick left his computer game and came running to have a taste, too. Oh, and Jordi came back and joined us for the tasting part.

The little ones had't gone near the oven because they found it too hot, but Louie wanted to wear the mitts. He was the best assistant; he only ate the crumbs. :-) And yes, I couldn't find my cooling rack so we had to improvise.

A collage of their photos. I'll email this for your desktops.
